In my previous post you (hopefully) read that I recently received my Kindle 2 from Amazon this past week. To celebrate the moment, I decided to take a few pictures of the unboxing event.
For those of you who are puzzled by the “unboxing phenomenon,” worry not. I was much the same only a few years ago, but I’ve come to appreciate technology to such a degree that I am impelled to document these type of events. Is it a bit geek-ish? Absolutely. But I’m willing to bet that a few of you are glad I have these geek-like tendencies!
I just recently got my Kindle 2 from Amazon this week (I’ve got a full review coming!). A few people from my office expressed interest in seeing it, so I took it to work to give a few demonstrations.
After bouncing from office to office, showing off my Kindle 2 like a proud parent, I went back to my own office to get some work done. An hour later, I was inundated by the rest of my coworkers. They all wanted to check out the new Kindle!
As my wife and I were setting up our own Kindles, my wife realized that she couldn’t remember her Amazon account information, much less if she even had an account (I know, shame on her!). I told her to try and use my account information and it worked fine.
Upon signing in to my Amazon account I realized that there were some advantages to having both Kindle units registered under the same account. Not only are your orders and other information kept in one central location, but you can seamlessly share books and other content between each Kindle.
Thanks for your order, Jared!
That’s from the email I just received from Amazon, confirming my Kindle 2 order. I’m expecting it to come in this Wednesday, and I’m totally excited! I’m sure I’ll make a huge deal out of it… you know, the typical geek-ish “unboxing” and reviews.
Since the Kindle 2 is such a hot item right now, I figured I would search the web to see if I could find any promotions our contests out there. Turns out I did!
If you haven’t picked up a Kindle 2 yet, maybe you can win one and spend your cash on a library of ebooks. Andy Beal over at Marketing Pilgrim is having a give-away of sorts. You have to do a little work to enter, but it’s well worth it. Mr. Andy is a great writer and I always find something interesting to read during any given week.
Sometime between now and April 5th, Andy is going to include a secret phrase in one of his posts. The catch is that it will only appear in the email and RSS versions of the post, so you’ll have to subscribe and read with diligence.

Hello everyone! Jared here, with a few quick announcements.
First, we’re really excited to blog about the Kindle. You’ll see posts mostly from myself and a good friend of mine, Bo. We’re both really big Kindle fans and we’ll continue to write about anything related to the Kindle (with maybe a few extra surprises along the way).
We’re also currently working on a new look and structure for the site. Implementing the new site is a good ways out, maybe a month or so. But, we’ll continue to post as often as we can in the meantime.
If you’re a Kindle enthusiast, please leave a comment and introduce yourself! If there’s something you’d like to see in the new site, include that too!
