I bought my Kindle 11 days ago, already damaged it by setting it down and then stepping on it. It took 6 minutes on the phone with Kindle Customer Service for them to verify my address, email, and tell me that a replacement was on its way and I had 30 days to return my broken Kindle. If you don't ship back within 30 days, they charge the credit card on your Amazon account. That's really impressive customer service, and I'm very satisfied after what I anticipated would mean me swallowing the loss.

Well, my Kindle customer service story is not so positive. I just wanted to return the Kindle WiFi that I had received as a Christmas gift in exchange for the Kindle WiFi 3G. I guess I should have told them it was broken. lol However, I told them I would send the additional amount (difference between $164 and $114) along with the gift reader, which I had not even removed from the box. It was 5 days after the 30-day return policy (we were stuck in snowstorm and FedEx was late picking up). Amazon said "Sorry." So . . . if anyone wants to buy a brand-new, 6-month old Kindle WiFi, I still hope to purchase the 3G version so that I can swap books with my mom. Not exactly a horror story, but I would have expected more consideration on their part. Life goes on . .
